Proceedings of Meetings on Acoustics (POMA) is an online open-access journal published by the Acoustical Society of America. Each article in POMA corresponds to a paper that has previously been presented at a meeting of the Society or at a meeting that has been cosponsored by the Society. It is open-access, so all articles can be viewed without charge by anyone with the capability of downloading material from the internet. Presenters of papers at meetings are encouraged, but not required, to submit them to POMA.

Subject coverage includes all the topics that are typically discussed at the Society's semiannual meetings. At the Meetings, each session is sponsored by one of the Society's Technial Committees: Acoustical Oceanography, Animal Bioacoustics, Architectural Acoustics, Biomedical Acoustics, Engineering Acoustics, Musical Acoustics, Noise, Physical Acoustics, Psychological and Physiological Acoustics, Signal Processing in Acoustics, Speech Communication, Structural Acoustics and Vibration, and Underwater Acoustics. The Meetings also have sessions which are sponsored by the committees on Education and on Standards. Topics are organized according to the principal committee which sponsored the session at which the paper is presented.

All submissions for publication must first be reviewed from the standpoints of clarity, coherence, and style by one of the Associate Editors of the Proceedings. The Associate Editors have the option of soliciting external peer reviews, whenever they feel such is appropriate. The principal criterion for acceptance is that the paper must have been previously presented at an ASA meeting. Format requirements for the submitted papers are flexible.

All papers are posted online as soon as they are accepted. Because of this and of the rapid editorial processing of the papers, the Proceedings offers a venue for viewing the most recent and timely ongoing work in the broad field of acoustics.
