The diffraction theory for ’’well‐array’’ sound diffusors as suggested by M. R. Schroeder has been previously derived by this author. Here, the equations are simplified so that one multiplication by a large complex matrix is saved. Further manipulation of the new equations clarifies the relationship to the equations for a locally reacting plane, which are obtained in the limit of zero well width. The equations are also extended to the case of nonzero thickness of the walls separating the wells.
